Only Apple can pull this off and still look cool.

A look at how iPhone 2.0 firmware compares to it’s jailbroken counterpart.
Here’s a direct link to the file.
You can now try all the apps that launched in the App Store today (upgrade to iTunes 7.7 to access the App Store). The new applications are so much better than jailbroken applications because they are more stable and have so much more functionality to offer. Tomorrow the iPhone 3G comes out. Gotta love Apple innovation.
A great article written by social media junkie Steve Rubel about how we can Twitter and Facebook but still be productive.
Facebook has just rolled out a major update to their Inbox function. Now you are able to search through your mailboxes - which is a big thing because you no longer have to sift through dozens of messages to find a little piece of information.

A great tool but Facebook should really look into creating a system that aggregates all your email (school, work and personal) into your facebook inbox. It’s a social utility that started with a big focus on the collegiate class… Let’s bring that back. Adopting email would make Facebook more legitimate for serious use. I understand that there are privacy concerns, but why not also integrate functionality like Gmail’s Privacy Monitor which monitors the different IP addresses that access your account? Facebook can’t merely depend on its applications to further it’s memberbase - they’ve got to continually work on the core of Facebook and give it functionality for more productive purposes so that it becomes a internet utility rather than solely a social utility.
As of late, I’ve become a tumblr addict. Tumblr is a microblogging concept that becomes anything you want it to be. You could use it as a twitter alternative, journal, liveblog, or use it to share pictures, videos, quotes and audio. It’s extremely versatile which gives it a lot more worth over more focused blogging platforms. It’s also a lot of fun to update because the interface is straight to the point. Previously, we used Wordpress as our blogging platform. WordPress is an extremely powerful piece of software. However, for our needs, as well as my lifestyle, I think Tumblr is the better alternative. I also want to see how mainstream this little tumblog can become!
Funny and insightful look at the state of the internet by Matthew Inman.

I just signed up for Muxtape and let me tell you - it’s awesome. What’s best about this service is that it’s so easy to upload a song, create a mixtape and listen to other peoples’ mixtapes. Perhap’s what gives muxtape most of its value right now is the quality of its user’s musical choices in their mixtapes. I listened to a few from the frontpage and I heard some great tracks from some indie artists. It’s worth a look… Create your own muxtape today @ http://muxtape.com
